I know numerous young guys who work in construction who exhibit irresponsible and heavy drinking. After working real hard all day, it seems so right to go to the local drinking establishment to have a few beers with the guys. Regularly, however, it seems that the well-intentioned few brews turns into a predicament in which many shots and beers are consumed, a lot of cash is spent, and several hours are spent at the local watering hole rather than spending time with their friends, wife or girlfriend, or with their family.

Careless and Hazardous Drinking Can Result in Friendship, Marital, and Relationship Problems

Is it truly all that astonishing under these circumstances that many my hard working friends go through alcohol induced financial difficulties even though they make a decent amount of money? How complicated can it be for my hard working friends to realize that abusive and irresponsible drinking often results in relationship, friendship, and marital issues? Why are these alcoholism and alcohol abuse signs so difficult for my hard working friends to see?

Abusive and Hazardous Drinking Can Result in DWIs, Problems at Work, Several Health Problems, and a Variety of Mental Health Problems Such as Depression

Should it honestly be astounding to anyone that these hard working guys could receive a DUI almost any day or night of the week? Is anyone truly stunned when my hard working buddies start to show up late for work due to their hazardous and heavy drinking?

Does it truly amaze anyone to know that my hard working buddies eventually complain about alcohol-related health problems such as hangovers, alcohol poisoning, a loss of energy, and sleep disturbances? Is it actually surprising that many of these hard working men are beginning to have various mental health issues such as depression? Why can’t these hard working guys “see” these alcohol abuse effects?

To a relatively great extent, these hard working men have gotten into a dysfunctional situation that is resulting in a life of alcohol abuse or alcohol addiction. My hope is that these hard working men will finally grasp the fact that hazardous and excessive drinking is not their “friend” and that they need to talk to their physician or somebody at the local alcohol treatment clinic about their problem drinking.

Concerning the problem drinking exhibited by these hard working guys, the main idea is that honesty is needed. Indeed, my hard working pals, not unlike others who involve themselves heavy and abusive drinking, need to look within themselves and make an honest assessment of what abusive and heavy drinking is doing to their finances, to their jobs, to their health, to their mental health, and to their relationships. In short, these hard working guys need to understand the alcohol side effects of their excessive and abusive drinking.

There’s Room For Hope If Those Who Engage in Repeated and Continuous Drinking Can Become Encouraged to Get the Alcohol Treatment and Alcohol Detox They Require

My hard working buddies need to get inspired and motivated about wanting to make a productive change in their lives. Stated another way, my hard working buddies need to get motivated to go to their healthcare professional or to the local alcohol treatment center and find out whether or not they are essentially abusing alcohol or if they are addicted to alcohol. Based on the information that is unearthed, these hard working men then need to get the alcohol detox treatment and the alcohol treatment they require.

The fortunate news is that theres an almost limitless number of rehab programs, rehabilitation facilities, hospitals, treatment centers, and drug and alcohol treatment clinics where these hard working guys can get first-rate rehab for their irresponsible and excessive drinking. And with a little effort, its feasible to find treatment centers, hospitals, rehabilitation facilities, drug and alcohol treatment clinics, and rehab programs that are relatively cost effective.

Top-Shelf Alcohol Abuse or Alcohol Addiction Help Can Begin With a Phone Call

There were certainly times in the past when professional help for alcohol addiction or alcohol abuse was more expensive and far less available that it is now. Due to the proliferation of alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse in the past decade, it can be noted, an alcohol abuser or alcoholic commonly has few, if any, valid reasons for failing to come to terms with his or her hazardous drinking.

In point of fact, to begin the change process all it often takes is a phone call to ones physician or to someone at the local drug and alcohol rehab center. From that point forward, long term alcohol recovery necessitates commitment, follow through, and a genuine desire to change ones hurtful style of life.

Work was starting to be too frantic for a young police officer named Gary. Although he had only been on the police force for four years, he was already known as a hard worker who almost never said no to working overtime. Actually, he was now working twenty-five to thirty hours of overtime each week and, consequently, he felt like he was losing his handle on his personal life. What made the situation more complex, however, was the fact that Gary began going out drinking with a bunch of his fellow officers after his shift was over.

What Began as Fun Soon Became Irresponsible and Careless Drinking

What began as a good time soon turned into hazardous and abusive drinking and then into a negative cycle of feeling tired each morning when he awakened for work, working more long hours, and then going drinking with his friends after work.

Clearly Gary was in a psychological and health-related rut and going through some adverse alcohol effects on the body. Where Gary really experienced drinking related difficulties and alcohol short term effects, on the other hand, was in his family life and in his marriage. His wife wasnt really a nag, but she frequently begged him to stay at home more with the family instead of going out and blowing all of his money while drinking with his pals.

Garys Unhealthy and Irresponsible Drinking Negatively Affects His Personality

In a similar manner, Garys excessive and unhealthy drinking also adversely affected his personality. More to the point, the more abusively he drank, the less patience he had with any difficulties or issues that arose regarding his children or his wife.

It Was Apparent to Gary That His Abusive and Hazardous Drinking Was Adversely Affecting His Relationship With His Family, Health, Pocketbook, and His Work

In his heart of hearts, it was obvious to Gary that his careless and irresponsible drinking was adversely affecting his relationship with his family, health, pocketbook, and his work. So one Wednesday morning Gary arrived at a decision to talk to Jerry, a trusted old police officer friend that he greatly respected.

Gary told Jerry how excessive and hazardous drinking was negatively affecting his health, work, relationship with his family, and his pocketbook. Jerry told Gary that he totally understood because around ten years ago, he too involved himself with careless and abusive drinking. In point of fact Jerry stated to Gary that abusive and careless drinking can cause so many difficulties in an individuals life that just about everything of significance can be ruined. And lastly, Jerry suggested that Gary make an appointment with an alcohol psychologist at the work-affiliated alcohol treatment center.

Due to the fact that his employees assistance program was affiliated with this rehab facility, it was not only quite affordable but also very convenient to get some quality counseling about his careless and abusive drinking. And since the staff at the substance abuse rehabilitation facility was competent, supportive, and non-judgmental, Gary would be able to get alcohol rehab that made sense to him and something he could accomplish.

After talking to his counselor about how his drinking was ruining his pocketbook, relationship with his family, work, and his health, Gary realized that he was burning the candle at both ends with his excessive work hours and his irresponsible drinking. Once he understood that he was getting himself into a rut, with the assistance his counselor, and after thirteen weeks in rehabilitation, he was finally able to quit drinking and stop working overtime.

Due to His Alcohol Rehabilitation Gary Felt More Healthy and Had Much More Energy

The result was that Gary viewed life differently now that he was in alcohol recovery. More to the point, due to his alcohol rehab he not only noticed that he actually had more money now even though he was working far fewer hours each week, but he was more patient when interacting with his wife and his children, he felt better and more healthy, and he had more quality time to spend with his family. Strangely enough, now that he quit drinking, Gary and his wife were not only beginning to save some money for a different house but he also felt more energized and alert than anytime since he and his wife were married.

Shelly was identified at work as really conservative human being who had an excellent work record. She in no way attended any of the happy hours following work and it was regarded through the department that she was an extremely spiritual person who frequently talked about the pitfalls regarding alcohol abuse and dependency on alcohol in our country.

Try to imagine the surprise within the workplace when one Monday morning Shelly did not show up for work and nobody had heard from her. In truth, it wasnt until around 9:45 in the morning that the human resources department received a phone call about Shelly from the county jail.

Shelly Goes Out Partying Along With a Few of Her University Classmates and Friends

Seemingly, Shelly went out drinking along with several of her university colleagues Saturday night and sometime around 2:15 Sunday morning, Shelly was arrested for a DWI. Given that her blood alcohol content level was very elevated, she was mandated to spend two days inside the city jail.

Shelly Has a Talk With Her Manager and The Human Resources Manager

When Shelly arrived at work on Tuesday morning, she immediately shared with her boss what had happened and she asked if she could possibly go and talk to the Human Resources director about her “drunk driving” arrest.

When she got to the HR department and met with the manager, she spelled out that she hadnt been drunk since her university days and that she was extremely embarrassed about her “driving under the influence” arrest. She also articulated the point that she required some help finding an experienced and successful DUI attorney who would represent her DUI case. In other words, Shelly really wanted the Human Resources manager to agree that she needed to see a DUI attorney.

The Human Resources director told Shelly that she ought to make an appointment with somebody inside the company employees assistance program to discuss any future drinking problem that she might have. The HR director also articulated that she needs to discuss her wish to hire a DWI lawyer to represent her with respect to her DUI case.

Furthermore, the Human Resources manager told Shelly that it was really positive that she hoped to hire a “driving under the influence” lawyer simply because of the difficulties and serious outcomes that are connected to a DUI conviction.

The Human Resources director could tell that Shelly was plainly distressed and humiliated by this whole scenario. For this reason he told Shelly that while he doesnt think that conscientious individuals really should ever get behind the steering wheel right after consuming alcohol, sadly these circumstances at times occur to really good individuals.

The Human Resources manager then mentioned that since such a scenario can’t be undone, what’s important is what the man or women does from this minute forward. As acknowledged by the Human Resources director, does the individual learn from his or her blunders or does she or he develop a pattern of alcohol related problems that cause the person long-term pain and suffering?

Fortunately, Shelly Did Not Have a History of Irresponsible and Abusive Drinking

Just before finishing their discussion, the Human Resources director informed Shelly that it was quite positive that she doesnt have a history of careless and excessive drinking drinking. Furthermore, she hasnt had an alcohol-related problem since her university days (which was roughly 8 years ago). As a consequence, Shelly should be in a position to deal with her “driving under the influence” arrest with embarrassment but also with a degree of self-confidence knowing that she will face and sort out this situation and become a healthier individual in the not too distant future.

Shelly thanked the Human Resources manager for his uplifting and stimulating thoughts and then walked over towards the company employees assistance program go over her DUI arrest, her participation in irresponsible and careless drinking over the past weekend, and her interest to retain a “driving while intoxicated” lawyer to represent her “driving under the influence” case.

After reflecting on Shelly’s “story,” the nurse that was part of the company employees assistance program explained Shelly’s immediate “game plan” that she needed to address and follow. First, she would be required to take a DUI class to learn more DUI facts and information. Second, she would also be required to take an alcohol abuse class to address her possible problem drinking. And finally, it would be an especially sensible thing to do if she were to consult with a DUI lawyer about her “drunk driving” arrest.

Shelly Feels Comfort Knowing That She Will Learn From Her Mistake and Become More Accountable

It was clear that Shelly was highly distressed with the complete “driving while intoxicated” predicament, but after talking to the Human Resources director and to the doctor in the company employees assistance program, she felt a sense of relief knowing that she would in truth learn from her mistake and become even more healthy and balanced, a lot more accountable, and an even more thankful individual.

How many individuals lose their lives every year because of drinking problems? How many people lose their lives each year from a condition that is 100% preventable, such as alcohol poisoning? How many people are the victims of alcohol related crime or violence each and every year? How many individuals get injured or lose their lives in alcohol related traffic accidents every year? How many peoples lives are cut short due to abusive and unhealthy drinking? How many children are born each year with fetal alcohol syndrome? On an annual basis, how many alcoholics fail to get the professional alcohol treatment they require? How many individuals face severe consequences in their lives because they received a drunk driving conviction? How many junior high, high school, and college students lose their lives every year due to an alcohol overdose?

Why Would Anyone Want to Drink in an Excessive and Hazardous Manner?

So whats the point in asking these questions? Basically to highlight the destructive and devastating nature of abusive and unhealthy drinking. Indeed, and based on the above questions, I wonder why anyone would choose to drink in an abusive and excessive manner.

Stated more precisely, with the host of health problems, legal proceedings, financial difficulties, employment issues, and relationship dilemmas that are associated with chronic alcohol abuse and alcohol dependency, why would any individual with any sense at all want to drink in a hazardous and abusive manner? In fact when some of the above topics are looked at more closely, careless drinking becomes more illogical and makes even less sense.

Wouldn’t you think that heavy drinkers would be able to see some of the alcohol symptoms that they exhibit? In a similar way doesn’t it seem reasonable to think that more families would involve themselves in an alcohol intervention for the individual in the household who is an alcohol abuser or an alcoholic? What is more, wouldn’t you think that individuals who drink excessively would try to learn more about their drinking behavior by researching various alcohol related statistics?

After reviewing the alcoholism and alcohol abuse research findings, the point is so critical that it needs to be stated again: With all of the destructive and unhealthy effects that are directly or indirectly linked to continuous and repetitive alcohol abuse and alcoholism, why would any person want to engage in hazardous and excessive drinking?

What Can be Done About the Widespread Nature of Alcoholism and Alcohol Abuse in Our Country?

So what can be done about the widespread nature of alcohol addiction and alcohol abuse in the U.S.?

Our students need more meaningful and more relevant preventative and educational methods and approaches so that more students at all grade levels, including those at college, are reached.

In a similar way, our students need to learn how to become problem solvers in life rather than resorting to the quick fix and the instant gratification of an alcohol or drug abuse high or buzz.

Individuals who are alcohol abusers or alcohol dependent need to look look at themselves honestly and ask why they are not getting the professional alcohol counseling they need.

Society needs to get the message to more individuals about the damaging and unhealthy effects of hazardous and abusive drinking.

There’s Room For Optimism if Those Who Engage in Hazardous and Excessive Drinking Can Become Persuaded to Get the Alcohol Rehab They Need

There’s room for optimism and hope if people can start drinking responsibly and those who engage in excessive and careless drinkingcan become motivated to get the alcohol treatment they require. Indeed, why put your loved ones through pain, suffering, and turmoil because of your unhealthy and excessive drinking when you have the power to control your life by drinking in moderation or even refraining from drinking if you cannot control your drinking behavior?

Alcohol consumption affects us in several ways and our social skills; After one or two drinks you often feel more comfortable and more talkative as the alcohol gets into the brain and affects your cognitive abilities.
Consuming alcohol causes your heart rate to heighten and you may experience a warm glow. This is caused by alcohol making the smaller blood vessels in the skin enlarge, allowing blood to flow nearer to the surface and lowers blood pressure.

The Effects of Alcohol on your health

The dangers of drinking large amounts of alcohol can be dire. Alcohol health problems include anxiety, slowed breathing and heartbeat, impaired judgment leading to accidents and injuries, loss of consciousness, suffocation through choking on your own vomit and potentially fatal alcohol poisoning. There are also many mental effects, making you feel guilt or anger for no apparant reason and even making you paranoid. You slurr your words, often don’t recognise your surroundings and drinking too much alcohol can result in memory loss.

Drinking alcohol also increases your calorie intake, suggesting why alcohol is a large factor in adult obesity. There are 125 calories in a medium-sized (175ml) glass of wine and over 500 in a bottle. So thats about one quarter of your guidline daily calorie allowance!

The morning after – hangover unpleasantries

Alcohol abuse causes you to get a hangover the next morning, which often has undesirable affects. You may experience stomach ache, sickness, nausea and sometimes diarrhea, Drinking alcohol also has a dehydrating effect. Drinking alcohol can also make you feel depressed, guilty

.
Drinking more than the guidline daily amounts regularly you are putting your health in damger. Consuming alcohol in large quantities increases blood pressure.

Alcohol is regularly associated with mental health problems. A recent British survey found that people with anxiety or depression were twice as likely to be alcoholics.

Large quantities of drinking may occasionally lead to psychosis, a bad mental illness where hallucinations and delusions of persecution develop. Heavy drinking may lead to seclusion and dismay.

Denny is an eighteen-year-old youth who has at long last finally decided to go and see his family healthcare practitioner about his drinking problems. At first, Denny thought he would be able to basically go on the Internet, look for some straightforward alcohol info and decide whether or not he was dependent on alcohol.

Not unexpectedly, he discovered numerous websites that detailed some of the typical alcoholism symptoms. Thats the good news. The less than encouraging news, sorry to say, was that Denny exhibited several of these alcoholism symptoms.

Alcohol Addiction Symptoms: Some Examples

As an illustration, Denny has been drinking significantly more than normal and he has begun to have more angry quarrels with the young lady he is dating. Furthermore, for the first time in his young life he has been suffering through sleeping issues. In a similar manner, Denny repeatedly has felt depressed and on an escalating basis he has been displaying less than usual attention to detail while at school. In addition, he has felt stressed out and more jumpy on a regular basis and for the past three or four months he has shown evidence of questionable thinking while at school. Seeing as Denny has been manifesting all of these symptoms, he was rightly apprehensive about his abusive and careless drinking.

So Denny finally made up his mind to call his doctor and make an appointment. In reality, this was difficult for Denny because his physician was also his parents healthcare practitioner. The source of his uneasiness was this: at the risk of embarrassing his family, he had to go and reveal his careless drinking behavior to his family physician.

When Denny arrived at the family physicians office, he overtly told the doctor about the trepidation he has about his irresponsible drinking behavior. When the physician asked what was stimulating this fear, Denny said that he had gone on the world wide web and read about alcohol dependency and especially about alcohol dependency symptoms. He then stated all of the alcohol dependency symptoms that he unmistakably thought he has.

A Thorough Physical Assessment and Outpatient Alcohol Rehab

The healthcare professional told Denny that it was intelligent of him to focus on his problem drinking, he gave Denny a thoroughgoing physical appraisal, and recommended that he talk to his Mother and Father about entering into an out-patient alcohol treatment facility that was supervised by Doctor Devor, one of his doctor co-workers who is a substance abuse and alcohol abuse specialist.

In addition, when Denny said that he has been feeling a sense of melancholy to a greater degree, the family doctor informed Denny that alcoholism and depression routinely take place in the same individual. Accordingly, the family doctor also recommended that Denny talk to his Mother and Father about seeking counseling to focus on his sense of despair. In fact, Denny can go to the local mental health clinic and make an appointment with Doctor Abrams, a celebrated psychologist who specializes in treating teenagers.

The Merits of Coming To Grips With Your Drinking Issues and Getting Encouraged About Making Positive and Healthy Changes in Your Life

The family doctor made it a point to tell Denny that he might not necessarily be addicted to alcohol, but that he was evidently drinking in an abusive manner. Stated more precisely, Denny was engaging in teen alcohol abuse. The family physician then told Denny that the reason he recommended alcohol treatment in the first place was because he wanted him to confront his drinking issues, make sure that he prevented them from worsening, and start to live in a more healthy manner, even if it meant that he had to fully abstain from drinking.

In a few words, by successfully treating his drinking difficulties, Denny would be able to get his drinking problems under control and stop the negative series of events that could most likely lead to addiction to alcohol.

Denny clearly did not look forward to facing his Mom and Dad about his abusive drinking and his depression. And he definitely did not want to face the thought of getting admitted into an alcohol treatment facility. And last of all, he was not euphoric about going to a psychologist about his sense of despair. Notwithstanding these apprehensions, then again, Denny as a matter of fact felt some emotional relief for the first time in many months because at last he quit making excuses for himself and at long last decided to do something affirmative about his careless drinking.

How do you know that you have a problem with your drinking? When is it evident that you are engaging in irresponsible drinking?

If you have ineffectively struggled to discontinue your drinking or if you have given your word to yourself that your drinking days are terminated and then you realized that you were drinking in a hazardous way just a few days later, chances are especially good that you have drinking problems. The point of emphasis is that if you have made an effort to terminate your drinking and cannot accomplish this, then your drinking is controlling you, rather than the other way around.

Likewise, if it takes greater amounts of alcohol to get the same high, you probably need to recognize the fact that you have a drinking problem.

You may be telling yourself that the rationale for your drinking is so that you can lower your nervousness or get rid of the agony that you feel. Likewise, you may be trying to avoid a negative situation and may be looking for something better, more favorable, or less regretful.

As you keep on drinking, on the other hand, you will understand that drinking does not produce the same high and you will also grasp the fact that drinking doesnt help eliminate whatever brought about your misery in the first place.

As you continue to drink, sadly, you may become addicted to alcohol and, as a consequence, you may add another fundamental issue to deal with rather than becoming aware of more productive and beneficial ways of dealing with your alcohol generated problems.

When an Alcohol Evaluation is Required

If you have determined that you have a drinking problem, perchance the most positive thing you can do for yourself is to call your physician or healthcare professional and schedule an appointment for a complete physical and for a review of your drinking behavior.

If you honestly believe that you have a dangerous drinking problem, it may be a good idea to get prepared to hear that you need to get alcohol reahbilitation.

At this point, what are your choices? You can positively decide against seeing your family doctor and persevere with your pattern of abusive drinking.

It truly doesnt take a rocket scientist, nevertheless, to realize that repeated, heavy drinking, if left untreated, will worsen over time and more likely than not result an early death. Thus, your most practical choice is to confront your drinking situation and get the alcohol counseling you require.

The Deception of the Functioning Alcohol Addicted Individual

It is ironic to note the fact that numerous people who are alcohol dependent lead busy and active lives and have vehicles, jobs, pets, houses, families, and any number of material possessions similar to people who are not alcohol dependent.

Many of these functional alcohol addicted people may have never been apprehended for a DWI and may have been fortunate enough to avoid all alcohol generated legal predicaments. Despite this good fortune, nonetheless, these alcohol dependent individuals need to drink in order to operate on a regular basis while upholding their facade as they interact with the outside world.

Ask anyone who has seen them when they are engaging in one of their drinking binges or in a drunken stupor or ask a family member about the problem drinkers alcoholism, however, and they will be quick to affirm the reality of the drinker’s situation and the whole story about the alcohol addicted persons drinking circumstances and about his or her alcohol produced predicaments.

Why Do Alcohol Addicted People Fail to Address Their Drinking Difficulties?

As alcohol addiction research and statistics on alcohol abuse have emphasized, no matter how observable the alcohol-related difficulties seem to those who interact with the alcohol addicted person, alcohol dependent individuals regularly deny that drinking is the cause of their alcohol generated problems. Not only this, but alcohol addicted people often blame their alcohol-related problems on other individuals or upon other circumstances that surround them instead of seeing their part in the difficulty.

The root of the difficulty is that alcoholism is a disease of the brain. Once the problem drinker has become alcohol dependent, he or she regularly resorts to denial, manipulation, and deceit as a way of coping with the fact that his or her drinking is out of control. And to make matters more complex, the experience of alcohol withdrawal symptoms characteristically thwarts the alcohol addicted persons rare attempts to suddenly quit drinking. As depressing as the alcohol addicted persons life is, nonetheless, the encouraging news is that professional assistance is commonly obtainable if the alcoholic reaches out and gets alcohol counseling.

Summary

Owning up to the fact that drinking is causing difficulties in your day by day functioning is perhaps the easiest way to find out if you have a problem with your drinking. In other words, if your drinking is eliciting difficulties with your health, at work, in your relationships, with your finances, at school, or with the legal system, then you have a drinking problem that needs to be tackled.

If you have a problem with your drinking, additionally, this means that you are engaging in irresponsible drinking.

While some individuals may be able to come to grips with their “alcohol signs,” pinpoint their difficulties, and substantially decrease the quantity and frequency of their drinking, other drinkers, conversely, need to tackle their drinking problems by getting professional alcoholism therapy. Moreover, due to their tendency to deny the facts and bend the truth, alcoholics certainly need quality alcohol rehabilitation for their irresponsible drinking.

Jesse had an exceptionally hard time maintaining a job. Indeed, due to his lassitude and lack of drive, he was without a job far more frequently than he was in work. And when he did get a job, he had an awfully hard time getting to work in a timely manner, he frequently got less than satisfactory performance reviews, and he called off sick so habitually that he commonly got fired just a few weeks after he started working. Not unexpectedly, one of the results of Jesses less than great employment history was the fact that he was virtually without a dime from day-to-day.

In spite of Jesses appalling employment history and financial disregard, conversely, somehow he managed to drink in an excessive and irresponsible manner most of the time.

So it came as no big shock when Jesse got a third DWI. When he went before the court, the magistrate stated to Jesse that his alcohol-related conduct was irresponsible and, as a consequence, he was going to sentence Jesse to spend five months in the city jail.

Time While Locked Up In Jail To Reflect On The Unhealthy Consequences of Irresponsible and Abusive Drinking

During his time in the county jail, Jesse was required to learn more about alcohol facts, about the adverse consequences of irresponsible and excessive drinking, and he was required to get alcohol therapy. The judge highlighted the fact that unless Jesse receives professional alcohol therapy and discovers how to live a life of abstinence, he will quite possibly be spending more than a short amount of time in the county jail.

Jesse said that he understood what the judge was proclaiming but he still thought that placement in the local jail was not the most effective sentence. The magistrate saw things from an entirely different orientation and stated that it was his obligation to keep alcoholics off the streets who drink and drive and who get a DWI. To support this assertion, the judge quoted some venerable, extensively researched alcohol statistics that pointed to some of the demoralizing outcomes that are linked to irresponsible drinking.

Although Jesse comprehended that he drank in a hazardous and abusive manner, he never thought that he was a person who was dependent on alcohol. So it was a real bombshell when Jesse began experiencing alcohol withdrawals roughly five-and-a-half hours after after getting locked up in the city jail.

To deal with his symptoms of alcohol withdrawal in a safe and sound manner, Jesse was life flighted to a drug and alcohol treatment facility for alcohol detox and then brought back to jail. While locked up in the county jail Jesse received alcohol treatment but due to the fact that he got this rehabilitation as something that was mandated for him, he was unsuccessful in taking ownership of his abusive drinking.

When his time behind bars was over, the judge without reservation told Jesse that he would be under rigorous observation and would be mandated to take periodic urine alcohol tests.

Jessies Hazardous and Irresponsible Drinking Prevents Him From Living in a Productive and Mature Manner

After hearing how Jesse failed to take ownership of his drinking circumstances and how he halfheartedly followed the treatment modus operandi while in the county jail, the magistrate knew that it was basically a matter of time before he would be seeing Jesse once again in court about his careless drinking behavior. As the judge thought about Jesses circumstance, he couldnt help but think about how some people never use common sense and discover how to live in an accountable and responsible manner.

When I was a sophomore in high school, I registered for a drug abuse class. At that time period, I did not grasp the fact that alcohol abuse in point of fact was a sub division of drug abuse. While taking this class and learning more about drug and alcohol abuse and especially about alcohol side effects, I read a lot about Alcoholic Anonymous, their meetings, how their programs have twelve steps, and how successful the Alcoholics Anonymous recovery program has been for people all through the world. I also learned a lot about alcohol rehabilitation and the various alcohol rehab facilities that are often available to abusive drinkers.

Damaging Consequences That are Related to Alcohol Dependency and Alcohol Abuse

Some of the damaging end results correlated with alcoholism and alcohol abuse that I learned about in this class definitely terrified me. The ruined lives and frequent serious issues experienced by most alcoholics made me feel like I never wanted to drink alcohol when I became old enough. More to the point, I did not want to face the wreckage and ruination that alcohol addicted individuals almost always go through.

Ponder upon this for a moment. What fifteen-year-old teenager wants to face premature death due to his or her drinking behavior? What teenager wants to become so out-of-control regarding his or her drinking that ingesting alcohol becomes the object of ones life? What teen wants to go to one of the local alcoholic rehabilitation centers to deal with alcohol-related problems before he or she becomes an adult?

What young person wants to experience alcohol withdrawal symptoms when he or she tries to stop drinking? Why would a person engage in drinking to such an extent that it would cause problems in every area of his or her life? Drinking later in life after a person has a career, a family, and develops personal responsibilities makes sense. But why would an adolescent want to sacrifice his or her education, employment, finances, and relationships for a life that revolves around hazardous drinking?

These issues were so significant that I talked about some of them in class throughout the school year. What was entirely amazing to me was the number of students who basically didnt care about the dangerous results of hazardous drinking that I talked about. It was almost as if they couldnt care less about the truth and how these results can wreck their lives. For the first time in my life I started to comprehend a saying that my grandfather used to tell me all through my adolesence: you can lead a horse to water but you cant force it to drink.

Its Beneficial, Enlivening, and Important to Stay Away From the Damaging and Unhealthy Consequences of Drug and Alcohol Abuse

And even at my young age, I also started to comprehend how liberating, important, and beneficial it is in life to stay away from the debilitating and unhealthy outcomes of drug and alcohol abuse.
